(The following texts are extracts from Chapter 24, Gayatri Mantra in author's BOOK: "A Tribute to the Ancient World of India")
And meaning of the Gayatri mantra can be stated as follows:
"O! Savita devi! You are not only lighting this Universe, earth, sky and heavens (Patala) but also keeping the unriverse intact. Be kind to inspire my intellect inorder to enable us to know your Omni potent and splendorous cosmic play."
(Word to word meaning: OM = primordial sound; bhUH= earth; bhuvaH = heavens; suvaH = carrying; tat = yoke; savita = (energy of the) sun; varENyam = excellent, desired; bharga = splendor, radiance; dEva = god; asya = of this; dhI = know; ahi = heaven and earth; dhiya = intelligence; O, O, naH = my; prachOdayaat = inspire. )
( the words Bhu, Bhuva and Suva actually seem to represent Mullokas, the three Cities of Tripuras and Savita devi is alluded to be lighting these three Lokas. This shows overlordship of Savita devi over the Three lokas similar to Triambakeswari.
